A big opening ceremony for the heavily hyped Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 took place on Wednesday at the Barabati Venue.
Celebrations, the name of the opening ceremony for the hockey World Cup, will highlight India’s beautiful culture and modern achievements. International and local stars will also perform during the event, amazing the field with their dance and music.

Hockey World Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony Performers
The hockey World Cup trophy was then displayed on stage in front of official guests as a spectacular fireworks show mesmerized the crowd of 40,000 spectators.
Following their appearances, the K-Pop group BLACK SWAN, which featured Shreya Lenka from Odisha, enthralled the audience with their hit songs.
Disha Patani, a Bollywood star and actress, and her group of gifted dancers then took control of the stage. Disha Patani and her group dazzled the audience with their dance steps to hip-South Indian & Hindi songs.
At Barabati Park, renowned playback singers Pritam and his band performed some Bollywood hits.
The group composed the official song for the hockey World Cup, Hockey Hai Dil Mera, and also gave a live performance of it at the Barabati Field amid a dazzling drone light show.
Wonderment sand performances portraying Indian hockey’s 100-year history were created by Odisha’s very own seashore sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik during the pomp and circumstance of the Hockey World Cup 2023 opening ceremony.
The night’s star, Ranveer Singh, who performed intense dance routines and sang hip-hop, was then presented by the two hosts, Manish Paul & Gauhar Khan. The usual fireworks display was then used to end the gala.
Around 40,000 spectators watched the opening ceremony’s pomp and circumstance from the stands, but the event was streamed live to 16 Hockey Fan Parks that were put up all across Cuttack on enormous LED screens.

Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey said, “The Ceremony is a vital aspect of the competition as it signifies our pleasure in both our state and our country for serving as hosts to the Hockey World Cup for a second consecutive year.”
The FIH Hockey World Cup games, which begin on Jan 13, will be held in Bhubaneswar or Rourkela, the two locations where the action will shift following the opening ceremony.
On January 13, at the recently constructed Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, the Indian men’s hockey team will play its season opener vs Spain.
