Grand Chess Tour 2023 is the 8th edition of the Grand Chess Tour and a series of Chess events. This competition will play from 4 May to 3 December 2023. Alireza Firouzja is the champion of last year’s event.

Grand Chess Tour Prize Money

The total prize money for the Grand Chess Tour 2023 is $1.4 million which will be split into five tournaments. The $350k prize money is fixed for the two classical competitions.

While the $175k prize fund is fixed for the Rapid & Blitz competitions. Moreover, the $175k prize money is fixed for the top three players who will be the best overall tour finishers.

There are two competitions of classical time control & three competitions of Rapid & Blitz. Rapid & Blitz competitions have two parts, one rapid round 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.

The other one is the blitz round 1 point for a win and 0.5 for a draw. The mixed result for both rounds will be calculated in the overall standings.
