13th Jan 2023 is set down for the opening of the 2023 FIH Hockey World Cup. The Hockey World Cup 2023 has been planned by the International Hockey Federation. The competition will run until 29th Jan, 2023.
Belgium claimed victory by beating the Dutch in the World Cup’s Final Match in 2018. India will host the FIH Hockey World Cup in 2023 this time. The games will take place in the Indian cities of Bhubneshwar and Rourkela.
Hockey World Cup 2023 Teams
Argentina will compete in Group A alongside Australia, France, & South Africa. In Group B, Germany, South Korea, Belgium, and Japan will play each other.
New Zealand, Netherlands, Chile, and Malaysia compete in Group C. The England team is in Group D with India, Spain, and Wales.

Hockey World Cup 2023 Format
The Hockey World Cup consists of two phases: the qualification round and the final game. The format is the same for each stage. Since 1977, there has been a qualifying round for the Hockey World Cup.
All participating teams play games during the qualification stage. Teams compete against one another in one or more pools to advance to the title game. The top two teams can qualify, and the remaining places are filled through playoffs.

Hockey World Cup 2023 Venus
Bhubaneswar & Rourkela, two locations in the region of Odisha, will co-host the Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 edition. The tournament will also be held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium.
