The total €2 million prize money is set for the World Chess Championship 2023, distributed between the finalists. The winner of the World Chess Championship will get a trophy and a €1.2m prize share which is the 55% of the total purse.
The runner-up of the World Chess Championship 2023 will get a 40% share of the total payout, which is €800k prize share. The prize money for the runner-up increased compared to last year.

The winner must need 7.5 points throughout 14 matches to win the title. But a tie-break will decide the winner if both players receive the same points in the games.
