1: 1986 Ind vs Pak Match

While discussing the historical matches of the Asia cup, how can we forget one of the most thrilling matches is known as the “Austral Asia cup”? It was the final of the Asia cup 1986 which was played between India and Pakistan. It was a one-day cricket and India took a great start with Sunil Gavaskar’s 92 runs, and Dileep Vengsarkar’s 50. However, India managed to make a total score of about 246 runs which was not easy to score during the eighties.

Pakistan took an awful start to a match by losing 2 essential wickets and India was about to win it. There were 4 runs required off the last ball where Javed Miandad was batting, Chetan Sharma tried a Yorker, and Mianad unexpectedly hit a six. Pakistan won the match and India faced a huge disappointment while the bowler Chetan Sharma’s career ended after it although, he played in the nineties as well but never as a permanent player.

2: Pakistan VS Bangladesh Match

It was the final of the Asia cup of 2010 and was the first year when Bangladesh was into the finals by defeating all the teams. Undoubtedly, they played amazingly in the entire tournament. In this match, Pakistan made scored 236 runs in 50 overs and only two players Hafeez and Sarfaraz managed to make 40+ runs.

But, Bangladesh batsmen took a great start that was Tamim Iqbal and Shakib al Hasan. They both easily crossed 200+. But, then Umar Gul dismissed Tamim. Bangladesh team required 23 runs off 18 balls but unfortunately, they only managed to score 20 and Pakistan won the match. Bangladesh lost the finals by defeating all the teams in other matches.

3: Bangladesh vs Srilanka Match

It was the match of 2012 when Bangladesh won the toss and elected to toss first and it turned out to be a great decision. Bangladesh never defeated Srilanka but in this match it did, because Srilanka started to lose its most crucial wickets because of bad weather conditions. Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, etc lost their wickets. But, the entire team managed to score 232 runs in 49.5 overs.

When Bangladesh started to bat the pitch became flat and Tamim Iqbal managed to give an amazing start to the match. Bangladesh played well and they even scored the entire total in just 37.1 overs. They qualified for the finals and defeated Srilanka for the first time in history.
