Tillakaratne Dilshan Education
He received his elementary education at the Jaffna Sinhala Madya Maha Vidyalaya in Jaffna before continuing his schooling at the Kalutara Vidyalaya, where he began playing cricket as a youngster. The only thing on his mind was to succeed in sports because his family did not want him to play cricket.

Career
IPL
The three-year agreement led to Dilshan signing with Delhi Daredevils of the Indian Premier League. Because of the absence of Virender Sehwag, he was selected captain for the second season.
He briefly affiliated with the New Zealand club Northern Districts in the 2010 campaign. He was resaved in 2011 and was purchased by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2011–2013 season.
Later, in 2013, he spent a season with the Dhaka Gladiators. In 2014, he played as Sydney Thunders’ opening batter in the Big Bash League. HDerbyshire hired him for the 2013 summer season.
Dilshan participated in Bangladesh Premier League 2015 throughout the entire season 2015. He was selected by Peshawar Zalmi in 2017 as a fill-in player for the campaign.
Post-Retirement
Dilshan entered politics after retiring, publicly endorsing Rajapaksa as a contender for president in Sri Lanka’s 2015 national campaign. He was also chosen to serve as the brand manager for campaigns to increase awareness of renal illnesses during the same year.
