The FIH organizes the Hockey World Cup, an international field hockey competition. The competition first started in 1971.
The first two tournaments had been played after every 2 years. The only competition to be conducted after three years was the 1978 Cup. The competition started being competed every four years in 1982.

Most FIH Hockey World Cup Winners
With four tournament victories, Pakistan is the most successful team in world cup history. Australia and the Netherlands each have won three championships. Germany has won the men’s hockey world cup 2 times. The competition also has once won by India and Belgium.
