World Cup Competition Format
Group Stage
- There are 8 groups and 4 matches.
- 4 matches will be played in a day.
- The top two teams that win in each group will qualify for round 16.
16 teams in Round 16
- Winners go to the quarterfinals from this stage.
- If there is a tie after 90 minutes, extra time will be played in two halves of 15 minutes each.
- If the score is tied after extra time, penalty kicks will decide the winner.
8 Teams in Quarter-Final
- Winners move to the semifinals from in this round.
- If there is a draw at 90 minutes, extra time will be played in two halves, 15 minutes each.
- If the score is level after extra time, penalty kicks will decide the winner.
4 Teams in Semi-Final
Winners in this level qualify for the championship round.
The Losers will compete in the third-place playoff.
2 Teams Third-place play-off
If there is a tie after 90 minutes, extra time will be played in two halves of 15 minutes each.
Final
- If there is a tie after 90 minutes, extra time will be played in two halves of 15 minutes each.
- If the score is tied after extra time, penalty kicks will decide the winner.
