New Zealand Cricket Board organizes a women’s T20 cricket tournament known as Women’s Super Smash. On Dec 23, 2022, Bay Oval will host the first Women’s Super Smash match between the Northern Brave (W) vs Canterbury Magicians.
6 teams will compete in the Women’s Super Smash from 23 Dec 2022 to 04 Feb 2023, playing each other two times in a dual round-robin style. The 2nd & 3rd spot teams compete in an elimination final while the group winner progresses to the final game.
The 50-over Hallyburton Johnstone Shield is played concurrently with the competition. The competition’s 2021–22 winners, Wellington Blaze, are the reigning champions.
