Granit Xhaka, an Arsenal midfielder, has been named captain of the Switzerland World Cup 2022 Squad, which will compete in Qatar.

After going past the group rounds on three of their previous four times, Switzerland is getting ready to fly to Qatar for their 5th straight World Cup.

They defeated Italy, the reigning European champion, in their qualifying group, moving them to the finals. This year, they also demonstrated their great potential by defeating Spain and Portugal in the Uefa Nations League.

They will have a difficult task at the World Cup because they were paired with Brazil, the pre-tournament favorite, Cameroon, and Serbia.

Switzerland Team Coach

While leading Basel to two Super League titles and two victories over Chelsea in the Champions League, Murat Yakin earned 49 caps for Switzerland as a defender.

He happily sent 9.3 kg of thank-you chocolates to Northern Ireland last year after Switzerland lost to Qatar and the Azzurri were forced into the World Cup play-offs by Northern Ireland’s draw with Italy.
