The Solheim Cup 2024 is the 19th season of the competition. The tournament will held from 22nd to 24th September 2024 at the Finca Cortesin. The Solheim Cup is a team contest having the top female professional golfers from the USA and Europe.

Where is the 2024 Solheim Cup?
The Solheim Cup 2023 tournament will occur at Finca Cortesin in Malaga. It is the first time that Spain will host the Solheim Cup. Before this, the Solheim Cup was hosted by European countries such as Germany, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and Sweden.
Are Solheim Cup Players Paid?
No, there won’t be any payout awarded during the 2023 Solheim Cup tournament. Players will receive generous hospitality during the competition. And triumph in the Solheim Cup may open doors to increased sponsorship opportunities.
Furthermore, teams must wear designated team uniforms during the tournament, setting aside their brand affiliations.

Format
Over three days, 28 matches will be contested in three distinct match play formats: foursomes, fourballs, and singles. Each game contributes one point to the team’s total. The Solheim Cup is claimed by the team earning 14.5 points first, while Europe retains the trophy in a 14-14 draw.
In foursomes, two European golfers face off against a U.S. pair, with team members taking alternating shots and sharing a single ball. Four foursome games will take place on Friday morning & the other four on Saturday morning.
Fourballs have two golfers from every side, but each golfer uses their ball. The lower score between the pair determines the team’s score. 4 Fourballs games will be held in the afternoon for the first two days.

Team USA has become winners in 10 of the 17 seasons of the Solheim Cup since its start in 1990. But their last triumph dates back to 2015 in Germany. In 2017, they secured a 16.5-11.5 victory on home turf at Des Moines Golf and Country Club, marking their most recent win in the competition.
