Domestic Career

Usman Qadir was a member of the Asian Games team that defeated Sri Lanka to win the bronze medal in Guangzhou, China, in November 2010.

Darren Berry urged him to move to Australia, and he participated in the 2012–2013 season for the Adelaide Cricket Club in South Australia. Qadir got a contract in September 2018 to compete with the Perth Scorchers as an international player in the Big Bash League.

Despite not receiving an initial state contract, Qadir debuted in Western Australia against Victoria in the 2018–19 JLT One–Day Cup on September 26, 2018. He took 3/50 and helped Western Australia win the game.

Qadir later stated that he planned to become an Australian citizen and play for Australia in the 2020 ICC World Twenty20. I want to play for Australia without a doubt, he declared.

He was included in Central Punjab’s roster for the Pakistani domestic campaign in August 2020.

International Career

He was included in Pakistan’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Australia in October 2019, but he was not selected to participate.

He was once more selected for Pakistan’s T20I team in January 2020 for their series against Bangladesh. He was included in a 22-person “probable” team for Pakistan’s home series against Zimbabwe in October 2020.

He was included in the Pakistan One Day International (ODI) team for the opening game against Zimbabwe on October 29, 2020.

On November 7, 2020, against Zimbabwe, he made his T20I debut for Pakistan and recorded his first-ever international wicket.

He was included in the 35-person Pakistani team for their November 2020 tour to New Zealand.

He was included in Pakistan’s ODI team for their series against South Africa in March 2021.

On April 7, 2021, he played in his first ODI for Pakistan against South Africa.

He was selected as one of Pakistan’s three traveling reserves in September 2021 for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
