His performance in the PSL’s opening round earned him a call-up to the Pakistani team for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20. The team kept him for the 2017 season due to his success in the 2016 campaign.

He played his first Twenty20 International match on February 29, 2016, for Pakistan against the United Arab Emirates in the 2016 Asia Cup. He was asked to bowl by Shahid Afridi, and in his three overs, he took 38 runs of punishment.
