Shadab Khan belongs to that city of Pakistan from whom Pakistan has got two of its great captains i.e. Misbah-ul-Haq and Imran Khan. He was introduced to tape ball cricket by his cousins when he moved to Rawalpindi at the age of 12.
Primarily he was a fast bowler but on the advice of one of his coaches, he shifted to leg spin bowling. He further accelerated his growth and whilst his training at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore and gathered some valuable advice from former greats like Abdul Qadir and Mushtaq Ahmed.
Unlike the limited overs spinners, Shadab bowls with a loopier trajectory and uses his wit and guile to fox the batsman in the air. He uses the crease well from close to the stumps as well as from a wider angle, to make the batsman recheck his eye line.
U-19 World Cup 2016:
He was performing everywhere he was getting the chance all of a sudden he was selected in the U-19 squad for the 2016 World Cup. He proved the selectors right by taking 11 wickets in 6 games at an average of 19.
PSL:
He was picked by Islamabad United in the supplementary pick for the 2017 HBL PSL. He impressed in his very first match by removing two great batsmen of Karachi Kings Kumar Sangakara and Eoin Morgan.
Now he is the Captain of Islamabad United in the PSL and is regarded as the future captain of Pakistan because of his fearless approach. He has also played for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League.

T20I:
He was awarded the T20I cap on the away tour of West Indies in March 2017 where he took 3 wickets for just 7 runs in his 4-over spells and became the man of the match. It was the most economical spell on the T20 debut. He won 3 Man of the Match awards in his first 10 T20I matches.
Until now he has played 64 T20I matches and in 60 innings of those matches, he took 73 wickets at an average of 21.79 and an economy rate of 7.12. He is quite handy with the bat as well he won Pakistan a match back in 2017 by hitting a six in the last over of the match against Sri Lanka.

ODI:
On the same tour of the West Indies, he also made his ODI debut. He took the wickets of Shai Hope and Jason Holder in that match but it was not enough for the visitors to win the match. He has taken 69 wickets in the 49 innings of the 51 matches he has played so far at an average of 30.83 and an economy rate of 5.11.
While talking about the batting records he has scored 548 runs at an average of 26.1 and at a strike rate of 76.43 in the 30 innings of the 51 matches he has batted. He is currently ranked number 23 in the ICC Men ODI Bowlers Rankings.
He was also part of the Pakistani Cricket Team that won the Champion Trophy by beating the arch-rivals India in the final by 180 runs at KIA Oval in 2017. He took the wickets of Yuvraj Singh and Kedar Jadhav in that match. Currently, he is also the vice-captain of the Pakistan team
Test:
The 2017 tour of West Indies proved lucky for him as he was also handed over the test match cap on that tour.
