Career
In Ireland for the U-19 World Cup Qualifier 2011, Shirzad played for the Afghanistan U-19 team. He debuted his first T20 match for the Afghan Cheetahs vs. Rawalpindi Rams in the Faysal Bank T20 Cup. He was not required to bat in this game, although he did bowl two overs without picking up a wicket.
On July 11, 2018, he made his List A debut for Boost Region during the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One-Day Tournament. With 12 wickets in six games, he led Boost Region in wickets taken during the competition.
Afghanistan Premier League
He was included in Kandahar’s roster for the debut Afghanistan Premier League competition in September 2018. With 16 wickets in eight games, he led the Kandahar Knights in tournament wicket-taking.
