Career

Domestic Cricket

He made his domestic debut in 2016 for the FATA region. Khushdil Shah has been a run machine in limited-overs cricket as far as Pakistan’s domestic circuit is concerned. Shah, a flamboyant left-handed batsman who bats predominantly in the middle order, has also shown his wares in the PSL for Peshawar Zalmi.

Unlike most southpaws who rely a lot on grace and timing, Shah’s game revolves around power, and he is solid on the leg side, unlike his peers. He isn’t flawless against pace but loves to destroy the spinners by going in the arc between long-on and square leg. Shah also uses his feet quite well to the tweakers.

In 2019, he was named to the Pakistan squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup held in Bangladesh.

PSL

In the 2017 HBL PSL, he was part of the Peshawar Zalmi but didn’t get much chance. Multan Sultans drafted him in HBL PSL 2020, and he has been their permanent member since that year. In this period, he has played some fantastic innings in the HBL PSL, which helped him earn his international call-up.

T20I

He got his maiden call-up for his T20I debut against Australia on a difficult tour away from home in Australia. He played his debut match against Australia on November 08, 2019, at Perth Stadium. He made his T20I debut against Australia but remained in and out of the game and has just played 13 matches until now.

He has scored 188 runs at an average of 23.5 and a strike rate of 107.43. His T20I stats are not promising, but his domestic cricket records still advocate that he can make his mark on the International cricket panorama if given the proper chances.

ODI

He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe on November 03, 2020, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. His ODI records are way better than his T20I records. He has played just seven matches yet.

In the six innings of his seven matches, he scored 176 runs at an average of 44.0 at a strike rate of 95.65. He is still quite raw but has the skills to make him an impactful whiteball formats player.

Records

He has the fastest T20 century in the domestic cricket of Pakistan. He scored a century in a mere 35 balls.
