Career

Permaul, a resident of Berbice, has been a member of the Community Centre Cricket Club since 2002.  He played his maiden game of first-class cricket for Guyana in the 2006–2007 regional four-day tournament.  In a home series against India A in 2012, he served as captain of the West Indies A squad.

In 2016, he dropped out of the Caribbean Premier League, and in the 2017 season, he was re-selected by the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

International Career

In March 2017, he was chosen to play for the West Indies squad against Pakistan in a twenty-international series. In 2017-18He played as a bowler for Guyana’s team against the Leeward Islands in a 4-day domestic tournament. He make a record of getting 25 wickets in first-class cricket.

His 50 dismissals from 10 games put him in first place for the tournament’s most wickets. He was added to the West Indies team for playing T20I against the Pakistan Cricket team in 2018.

He appeared in his debut T20I game for the West Indies vs Pakistan on April 1, 2018. He suffered a personal injury, though, and was forced to withdraw from the West Indies team for the following two matches.

In Oct 2019, Veerasammy Permaul was selected for Guyana’s team for the Regional Super50 League season 2019-20. Permaul grabbed 15 wickets for 77 runs in the match against Jamaica in the 2019–20 West Indies Cup in February 2020.

Since 1966, these were the West Indies’ second-best match statistics in a domestic first-class match. With fifty dismissals in eight games, he was the tournament’s top wicket-taker.

He was included on the Jamaica Tallawahs roster for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League in July of that year.
