He was one of 10 cricketers who received a one-year, part-time contract from the Emirates Cricket Board in December 2020. He was selected for the UAE’s One Day International (ODI) team to play Ireland in January 2021.

On January 8, 2021, he played in his first ODI for the UAE against Ireland. The next ODI match had to be rescheduled since he tested positive for COVID-19 the next day.

He was selected as the UAE team’s captain in January 2022 in preparation for the West Indies 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
