Career
IPL
For INR 2.4 crore, Delhi Capitals acquired Alex Carey for the 2020 IPL. On October 12, 2020, against the Mumbai Indians, he made his DC debut. On his first day, he scored 14 runs while being unbroken.
BBL
Alex played his lone BBL game for the Adelaide Strikers in the 2016–17 season. During the next BBL season, he achieved his first half-century against the Sydney Sixers. During the same season, his first BBL century came against the Hobart Hurricanes, and Jofra Archer bowled him out for 100.
He scored fifty against the Brisbane Heat to begin the 2018 BBL season. At a strike rate of 120.07 in 12 innings throughout the season, he scored 329 runs. He scored 391 runs at an average of 35.55 in the following season, including a fifty against the Perth Scorchers.
