Due to a left-side injury, fast bowler Mohammad Wasim Jnr. will not play in the ACC T20 Asia Cup. He sustained the injury on Wednesday while bowling for Pakistan during practice. The bowler’s diagnosis was determined after the team’s medical personnel examination, and an MRI in Dubai verified it.
The PCB Medical Advisory Committee addressed the results, and a specialized physiotherapist’s unbiased opinion was also sought. Before England travels to Pakistan, the medical staff will reevaluate Wasim’s comeback to competitive cricket and closely monitor his recovery.
Hassan Ali Selected
Wasim’s alternative, Hasan Ali, has been nominated, but the Event Technical Committee must approve this decision. The bowler will go for the UAE as soon as the ETC approves Hasan as a substitute player.
The team management requested Hasan Ali as a backup player, and the chief selection approved their request. Hasan is now in Rawalpindi getting ready for the National T20, which starts on August 30. Hasan had been training his bowling at the National High-Performance Centre for the previous three weeks.
