The 26 players John Herdman believes most suitable to represent Canada at the World Cup 2022 are listed as men’s senior national soccer team members.
Canada is competing in its first World Cup since 1986, when it failed to score a single goal while losing all three of its group games.
After a 36-year absence, they finally qualified from the qualifiers, and their victory over CONCACAF heavyweights Mexico and the United States in the last round was evidence of their potential.
Nobody would be more determined to defy the odds than John Herdman’s team, now in Group F with Croatia, Belgium, and Morocco.
Herdman admitted to TSN’s Matthew Scianitti that “yesterday” was the most challenging day of his coaching career. “That was difficult; he’s a true warrior, but with this, you get to see the other side of Doneil; he’s in a lot of agonies right now. He’s had a challenging career, ups and downs, setbacks, and many people who don’t believe in him, but we do and always have, so if there’s one player I would’ve wanted to see on this squad, it’s him.
Henry will remain with the team in Qatar and assist the team in a different role while there, Herdman revealed, although he is not one of the 26 eligible to participate.

Canada’s Best Players to Watch In World Cup
Juventus fullback For his nation, Alphonso Davies, usually plays more forward and teams up well with Jonathan David. The 21-year-old is a loyal teammate with world-beating speed and excellent technique; his eight goals during qualification demonstrate this. He is just as likely to assist a fellow citizen as he is to score himself. He is a natural person.
